blah

Life is precious
Most of us don't understand that simple concept
They let their lives waste away in utter unproductiveness
not living, not watching, not learning
Why can't people figure out that life is meant to be lived
and to live is to love, and that by making enemies you are taking away your chance and others' chances to live?
Its sooooo simple, yet they don't get it
Maybe its just high school folly, but I see it among adults as well
Their enemy is failure, their friends are material things
They ruin relationships over money, power, reputation...for what?
It is so much more apparent in the teenage world, immaturity rules all and popularity is so key. You have to be soooo loyal to your "best friend," so loyal that you forget that you still have other friends, friends that care about you just as much, if not more than your 'best friend.' I use quotes on the term 'best friend' because I find that that term is incredibly obsolete when one applies it to so many people, and one day so and so is your 'best friend,' but tomorrow another person owns that title. It is ridiculous how one-dimensional people are today. How people do not have any substance whatsoever. They do not know who they are themselves, but they don't want to put in the time to try and find out who they are. Whatever happened to the never-ending search for self-knowledge? Aren't teenagers trying to find out who they are? Aren't they supposed to be trying to take the next step into the adult world? If so, then why are they taking a step backwards into the immaturity of junior high? Being a senior means you are supposed to be leading the school in maturity, and yet we aren't leading them in maturity, we're leading them down the path of sectarian popularity, drugs, peer pressure, and a loss of their own self-image. We need to stop. We need to grow up. You aren't going anywhere, you aren't making a difference, you aren't protecting anyone, you aren't "sticking up for anyone." Just stop trying to be who you are not, and figure it out for yourself. Don't let yourself be led by the blind. Shut up and take a look in the mirror, and see who you have become in the past four years.
